Vantis, the UK top 13 accounting, tax and business advisory group, this week presented Luton charity Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice with a cheque for £1000, which will be used to provide essential equipment for its patients.
Looking to provide relief to those in need amid a tough economic climate, Vantis chose to support Keech Cottage in recognition of the care that the charity provides to patients and their families in the Hertfordshire area.

Andrew Scott, Location Director for Vantis in St Albans, was delighted to present the charity’s Community Fundraiser Janice O’Neil with the cheque, and commented:
“It has been a privilege to support Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice, as their need for donations at this time is as great as ever. As a company, we made the decision to send electronic cards instead of printed cards at Christmas in order that we could donate the money saved to support the children at Keech Cottage.
“It is so important for local businesses and organizations to work together and support one another, especially during these difficult times, and Vantis is delighted to help bring comfort and joy into the lives of local children.”
£1000 could pay for two syringe drivers for the hospice, which are vital to the care of many children at Keech Cottage and need replacing on an annual basis.
Janice O’Neill commented: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Vantis for their support in using this innovative way to raise money for our children. Times are hard right now for everybody so it’s just heartwarming to see a company make a donation like this – it makes such a difference to the lives of the children. We are delighted!”
Vantis’ St Albans location provides a broad range of value-added accountancy, tax, business services and professional advice to owner-managed businesses and private individuals.
About Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice:
Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for children diagnosed with a life-limiting condition and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
Care at the hospice focuses on helping children to enjoy the highest quality of life - controlling their pain and other distressing symptoms, offering practical and emotional support, and providing a range of treatments and therapies including complementary therapies, music and hydrotherapy.
When a child is seriously ill, family and friends can all be affected. Keech Cottage is there to support them as much as they need throughout the child’s illness and in their bereavement. As well as 1-1 support, Keech also runs peer support groups for patients, parents and siblings.
The hospice has inpatient and day care facilities run by a specialist palliative care team. Whilst fully equipped with all the necessary clinical equipment, Keech offers a homely environment where patients and their families can feel at ease. Keech also provides a community nursing team to help families care for their child at home.
All of the hospice’s services are provided free of charge but cost around £2.5million every year. As a charity, Keech needs to raise over 75% of this through voluntary donations.
