Lismore Care Home in North Shields, is in the process of being closed having entered into administration in August last year, after its owners, Nightingale Care Lodge Ltd, appointed Chris Stevens, Client Partner at Vantis Business Recovery Services (BRS), a division of Vantis, the UK accounting, tax and business advisory group, as administrator.
Commenting on the closure, Chris Stevens confirmed: “We have explored every opportunity to find a buyer since August 2008 but, following limited interest from various parties, no sale has been agreed. With strong competition in the area, business has been declining with only 8 residents remaining.”
He adds: “As the home is trading at a monthly loss, together with the Care Home staff, we are working closely with social services and the regulatory authorities to relocate the residents, ensuring their care is not impacted.
Directors at Nightingale Care Lodge Ltd appointed administrators after the business experienced financial difficulties, forcing it into insolvency.
