Vantis Business Recovery Services, a division of Vantis, the AIM listed UK accounting, tax and business advisory group, has appointed industry figure-head Gerald Smith, as Client Partner based in the Birmingham office.
Vantis has experienced strong growth in Birmingham; Gerald is the 11th recruit for the office which opened only a year ago with core team of four. In his new role, Gerald will be responsible for developing pensions covenant review and related services offered by Vantis to corporate employers and trustees in connection with defined benefit pension schemes. In addition, he will be actively involved with the Birmingham team in providing restructuring and insolvency advice to companies in financial difficulty.
He brings with him a wealth of experience in pensions and insolvency practice, which has been developed over more than 20 years in the industry. During this time, Gerald has been lead partner within a number of practices including RSM Robson Rhodes in Birmingham. He joins from Grant Thornton where he led its local pensions team and was also responsible for maintaining insolvency connections.
