Corporate Finance

Since the early 1980's, we have helped many businesses find the extra finance they need. Led by Nigel Kimber the location's Corporate Finance team have used their specialist skills and contacts to organise project finance, undertake shares valuations, find investors and business purchasers to conclude successfully negotiated deals. Their success has been significant, with total contracts of over £125 million - made up largely of family owned companies and businesses.

"I was approached by a fully listed plc to buy my company - and I called upon Vantis' Corporate Finance team to advise me?."

"My company specialised in the supply and maintenance of photocopiers, facsimile machines and telephone equipment. The main interest for the purchaser was the acquisition of the service agreements and it was the existence of such contracts that gave the company its premium value.

The listed plc engaged heavyweight legal and financial advice and throughout a long and drawn out procedure of negotiation the Vantis Corporate Finance team were always at my side. They demonstrated a considerable amount of hands-on knowledge to match the proposals being made by the intended purchasers, assisted with the contract negotiations, the limitation of the warranties and the restrictions on my subsequent trading activities.

Such sensitive and constructive negotiation helped seal a deal enabling me to retire comfortably. I have since spent many years enjoying the more important things in life, without worrying about how my retirement years are going to be funded.

There certainly is a depth to the experience of the Vantis team and I am pleased I had them on my side to guide me through the largest financial transaction of my entire life."

Raising finance

There comes a time for some businesses when a major injection of finance will be needed; something that goes beyond the regular squeeze on cashflow and overdraft problems experienced by many. Often it is signalled by a shortfall in working capital preventing the business from meeting growth opportunities. The solutions are varied and might include:

  • additional lending from traditional sources such as a bank
  • bringing in new external investors such as venture capitalists
  • merger or joint venture
  • business sale to management team, business angels.... or a combination of the two
  • partial business sale, bringing additional funds and management time to focus on core activities
