As the only adult Hospice in the Hartlepool and east Durham areas of the UK, their unique range of services make a vital difference to the lives of thousands of families each year.

‘Hartlepool and District Hospice believes that each individual affected by a life limiting illness is unique and has the right to the highest quality of life possible. We offer a range of specialist palliative care and support services to individuals and their families at their time of need.’

stteresas hospice logoSt Teresa's Hospice is a Registered Charity founded in 1986 which provides Hospice at Home respite service, provides specialist palliative care beds, day care, carers support, counselling and bereavement support, and is free to all people in their catchment area of South Durham and North Yorkshire.

Their continuing aim is to provide the best possible care to those who need it in terms of quality, professionalism, meeting clients' and their family's needs.

Zoë's Place is unique as they are one of only two Baby Hospices in the whole of the country. The hospice only cares for infants from birth to five years of age and all their services are free to the families that use them.


Zoë's Place can offer :

  • A home from home environment for babies from birth to five years old, who have life limiting or terminal illnesses, special and complex needs to varying degrees.
  • All babies/infants receive care in the form of one to one nursing.
  • Respite and palliative care from a team of highly trained and experienced nurses.
  • Support for parents/ carers and other close family members and after care for when life draws to a natural end.
