Vantis Corporate Challenge Case Studies

Below are some case studies of what some  teams participating in the challenge did to grow their money.

C3 Construction - Winners of the 2008 award for the 'most money raised'

C3 Construction raised £4,567 from their sponsored walk and balloon race.

The rather hilly walk started from Loros on 31 May 2008 at 10am and took the willing walkers (the whole office, plus a few family members!) through Groby all the way to Loughborough where they finished at Rainbows. The route was a tough 13 miles long.

In addition to the walk, the team ran a balloon race, selling the balloons for £5.00 each. The balloons were allowed to meander for one week and the one which travelled the furthest won a 32" TV.

EAS Windows

Project sponsors EAS Windows and Premier frames joined forces for the challenge and raised money for this by holding a prize draw to win… a free conservatory! Additional supporters of this challenge and all helping to make it happen were UltraFrame, ClearTherm Glass, Rehau, Cristal Glass and Motion.

The prize was a 3-facet Victorian or 3-sided Edwardian conservatory in white PVCu, up to 4m x 4m (or 16 sq.m) in size (prize excludes all building / electrical / fitting arrangements, plus all associated costs). Designed to a high specification and using superior quality products from some of the industry’s best known and trusted suppliers.

This was a fantastic opportunity to win an amazing prize which the winner could either keep or transfer to friends or family (how popular would you be!)

The ticket price was £25 and tickets were limited. The draw took place at the awards dinner on Friday 13 June 2008.

Pick Everard - Winners of the 2008 award for the 'most innovative idea'

You've heard of the X Factor competition but here was your chance to experience the 'PIX' Factor!

All the musical members of staff at Pick Everard grouped together, planned and came up with their challenge which was an evening of music and entertainment performed purely by Pick Everard staff.

Not to be missed, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the raw talent that Pick Everard staff had been hiding away from colleagues and clients alike!  The event took place on the 22 May at 6pm, where their architects, engineers and surveyors really showed us their wild side!

Royal Bank of Scotland

The Royal Bank of Scotland team put their thinking caps on and kept their challenge current and fun with a sports day event billed as the ‘Mini Olympics 2008’.

The company used their professional and business contacts throughout the county to encourage teams of six to enter at a cost of £250 per team. The event not only generated a great deal of money for the Vantis Corporate Challenge, it was also a good opportunity for different members of the Leicester business community to network in a fun environment.

The day was held at Leicestershire County Cricket Club on the afternoon of Tuesday 27 May and included those old favourites egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and sack racing plus some new competitions including a big screen ‘Nintendo Wii’ boxing competition!

Tech-ni-Fold

After the first official ‘Vantis Corporate Challenge team meeting’, Tech-ni-Fold made the unanimous decision to use their £50 (and a bit of gentle persuasion!) to get 1,000 newsletters printed by Prontaprint at a reduced cost.

The newsletter was a special Challenge edition and was sent to their customers detailing the easy ways in which readers could contribute to this fantastic cause.

For example, customers from all over the world could take part in an auction to bid for the very first production model of a brand new product. Pictures of the winner being presented with the award were published in PrintWeek magazine and the winner was invited to the Awards Dinner at the Walkers Stadium, Leicester on 13 June 2008 as a guest at the Tech-ni-Fold table.

The company promoted the challenge, with a view to raising more money, to their business neighbours at St John’s Business Park, Lutterworth and at the world’s largest print show in Düsseldorf in May and June.

The Quarter Restaurant

The Quarter Restaurant took part in the Vantis Corporate Challenge and the main event was the launch of the restaurants new wine menu on Wednesday 23 April.

The evening included sampling six wines and a taster menu created by the Quarters’ Chefs, Lee Williamson and Leon Fox. The evening was hosted by Nick Askew of Bibendum Wines, who was on hand to talk guests through the wines selected to match a special gourmet taster menu. Entertainment was provided on the night by the Wit’U Cool Jazz Collective and there was also a raffle.

The evening kicked off at 7pm with canapés and drinks. The cost was £25 per person and funds collected on the evening were donated to the challenge.

 The Woodhouse Restaurant

The Woodhouse Restaurant cast their minds back to two successful charity luncheons they had held previously. Due to their great success, they decided to hold another similar event in aid of the Vantis Corporate Challenge and to make it even bigger and more successful than last time!

With a range of specialists in the areas of fashion, make-up, holistic treatments and of course food, the event provided something of interest for all attendees. There was advice on what to wear and how to wear it, a range of beautiful things for the home and raffle prizes amongst other things.

Thomas May & Co

Thomas May & Co held a charity golf day on Friday 30 May at Leicestershire Golf Club, Evington Drive. The team hoped to raise as much money as possible from the day and  invited teams of three to take part at £200 per team.

The ticket price included light refreshments on arrival, green fees and a three course dinner in the evening. Sponsorship for individual holes was also available at an additional price of £100.
Vantis

Everyone was welcome to come along to the Vantis team’s ‘race night’ on Tuesday 20 May at Oadby Royal British Legion. Tickets were just £2 each, available either in advance or on the door.

Yorkshire Bank

Yorkshire Bank more than quadrupled their £50 with their first challenge initiative! They bought a Wales rugby shirt with the money and got it signed by Jonathan Davies who was hosting a lunch at their Financial Solutions Centre. This was raffled off for £270!

For the next initiative £50 worth of lollipops were bought at wholesale price and were  sold to customers, professionals and workmen for a minimum of 50p. So if you were approached by a sensible looking banker with a bunch of lollies for sale, thanks for digging deep!
