Q: Are we free to grow the initial £50 investment by any means?
A: As long as it’s legal, decent and honest! Teams are free to apply their £50 in defraying the costs of fundraising. Horse Race nights, sponsored parachute jumps, sponsored diets are only a very few of the ideas. The more unusual idea the better... use your ingenuity!
Q: Are we free to enter more than one team?
A: Yes you can enter more than one team if you wish.
Q: What proof do we need that we raised money within the rules and spirit of the competition?
A: We will provide you with a submission form which asks for details of your project. The more you tell us, the more likely you are to be a winner. However, any skulduggery will rule you out … but we’ll still accept the money you’ve raised, of course!
Q: Will the winners be decided purely on the amount of money raised?
A: No, the judges will use their experience to consider ingenuity, creativity and entrepreneurship as well.
Q: What will the winner receive?
A: Along with the pride of winning the Challenge and the accompanying PR, there will be a trophy for the winning team to commemorate their performance.
Examples
Two awards are being competed for in the challenge: 'Most Innovative Idea' and 'Most Money Raised'.
Below are examples of the winning ideas in each category in the 2008 challenge.
Most Innovative Idea
You've heard of the X Factor competition but the winners of this award had come up with a new talent show...the 'PIX' Factor!
All the musical members of staff at Pick Everard grouped together, planned and came up with their challenge which was an evening of music and entertainment performed purely by Pick Everard staff.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the raw talent that Pick Everard staff had been hiding away from colleagues and clients alike! The event took place on the 22nd May at 6pm, where their architects, engineers and surveyors really showed us their wild side!
Most Money Raised
This award was won by C3 Construction who raised £4,567 from a sponsored walk and balloon race.
The rather hilly walk started from Loros on 31 May 2008 at 10am and took the willing walkers (the whole office, plus a few family members!) through Groby all the way to Loughborough where they finished at Rainbows. The route was a tough 13 miles long.
In addition to the walk, the team ran a balloon race, selling the balloons for £5.00 each. The balloons were allowed to meander for one week and the one which travelled the furthest won a 32" TV.
