And the winner is....
Shahid Sheikh of Clifton Packaging, winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 at the Leicestershire Business awards, spoke to us about his win.
What did it mean to you to win the award?
It has meant the world to me for a number of reasons. Being the first Asian to win the Entrepreneur award and to be acknowledged by my business peers in Leicester makes it very special and it is appreciated after all the work and effort I have expended over the years.
Where are you now?
My mind is constantly buzzing with ideas for business and innovation. I recognise the need to build a team that can help me implement the best of them and am actively doing so.
What’s the secret of your success?
Energy, commitment and ambition. I have enjoyed a challenging life and will never forget my roots. My life experiences have given me ambition and I am driven to leave a legacy for benefit of others.
What was your greatest challenge?
I see every day as positive challenge and am conscious of the need to avoid complacency at all costs.
What does the future hold for Clifton Packaging?
I believe that we are poised and ready for continued growth through our continual investment in innovative and effective technology.
What we have achieved to date serves as a foundation for development in the future. We aim at all times to build our network of contacts and be alert to opportunity and to continue to be seen as leading innovators in the fields in which we operate.
