Q: Are we free to grow the initial £50 investment by any means?
A: As long as it’s legal, decent and honest! Teams are free to apply their £50 in defraying the costs of fundraising. Horse Race nights, sponsored parachute jumps, sponsored diets are only a very few of the ideas. The more unusual idea the better... use your ingenuity!
Q: Are we free to enter more than one team?
A: Yes you can enter more than one team if you wish.
Q: What proof do we need that we raised money within the rules and spirit of the competition?
A: We will provide you with a submission form which asks for details of your project. The more you tell us, the more likely you are to be a winner. However, any skulduggery will rule you out … but we’ll still accept the money you’ve raised, of course!
Q: Will the winners be decided purely on the amount of money raised?
A: No, the judges will use their experience to consider ingenuity, creativity and entrepreneurship as well.
Q: What will the winner receive?
A: Along with the pride of winning the Challenge and the accompanying PR, there will be a trophy for the winning team to commemorate their performance.
Examples
Below are examples of what our award winning teams did last year:-
Nunthorpe School, Middlesbrough
Winners of the education award in 2009, Nunthorpe School embraced the Vantis Corporate Challenge and the opportunities it gave them to not only support local charities but to work together as a team to make as much money as possible, whilst having as much fun as they could! The teachers and pupils showed amazing dedication and hosted a variety of fundraising ideas, including a sponsored bike ride, raffles, sponsored fast, a beat the goalie event as well as men who paid to dress up as women! Will Bailey, Headteacher at Nunthorpe School, said “The Vantis Corporate Challenge was so worthwhile and we will definitely be signing up to take part again”.
Archers Law, Stockton
Alastair Smith, Partner at Archers Law, found that taking part in the challenge really brought his team together and as a result they won “most innovative idea” in the 2009 challenge showing amazing effort and hard work to deliver their idea. The team of 5 got themselves wet in the aid of charity and set out to canoe up the east coast from Teesside to Newcastle, covering a distance of 207.5miles and taking 12 hours. Alastair said “We all worked very hard and got very wet in the process – but we had a lot of fun at the same time. We were delighted with the amount of money we managed to raise, and the award has sat proudly in our reception area for all to see. I was extremely proud of the dedication and teamwork that
our employees demonstrated”.
Teesside Shopping Park, Stockton
Winners of the “most money raised” award Teesside Park put everything they had into the challenge last year and worked hard to maintain momentum and motivation by carrying out a wide range of interesting fundraising initiatives which included cake baking, tombolas, a sponsored walk and a bungee event. The teamwork and dedication of all involved enabled them to raise over £3,600.
Have we whetted your appetite? We hope so! Remember it doesn’t cost you anything, we give you the £50, we just need your ideas and more importantly your time to help raise even more than last year and make the 2010 challenge memorable and successful for all!
