The Charities Act 2006 introduces a new legal form of Incorporation which is designed specifically for charities - Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO). Advantages include:

    • Single registration - file accounts only at the Charity Commission
    • Less onerous reporting requirements - more exemptions
    • Less onerous constitutional requirements - approval of constitutional changes required by the Charity Commission alone
    • Lower costs - the Charity Commission levies no charges for registration or filing and does not impose penalties
    • More straight forward arrangements for mergers and constructions

There are provisions for converting into a CIO or setting up as a CIO.

Join us on 23 February 2010 at Vantis' West End office from 9.30am - 12.00pm where, in association with Sherrards' Solicitors, our Charity & Not for Profit Group will present the fundamentals of establishing your charity as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Registration and refreshments will start from 9.00am

By attending this event you will receive a CD ROM containing technical materials and exampled documentation. Places are strictly limited, so to register for the London workshop only, please email londonevents@vantisplc.com

We are also running this workshop in St Albans
