Accounting & Advisory Assistant Manager
Main duties and responsibilities:-
- To start to manage and develop a portfolio, including:-
Planning assignments efficiently to meet budgets and recoverability of fees
Allocating applicable staff resource
Controlling and reviewing work done
Giving feedback to staff and carrying out appraisals
Ensuring complete jobs are passed to partner/associate partner
Interacting with other departments as required e.g. Tax, Company Secretarial, Payroll
Informing clients of progress
- Meeting deadline and dates set
- To provide technical advice and support to audit teams
- To assist Core Practice management to achieve group targets as required e.g. chargeable time targets, recoverability targets
- To manage the performance of audit team members and to coach them in their ongoing development
- To liaise and communicate with other departments to provide a full and timely business advisory service e.g. Tax, Company Secretarial, VAT, Payroll
- To interact fully with clients as a point of contact by email, phone calls, on-site reviews and attending client meetings.
Experience / Qualifications
Key skills and knowledge:-
- Able to prioritise workload
- Able to offer good advice to clients
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Ensure technical knowledge is up to date and seeks expert advice when required
- Undertake CPD in accordance with institute and Vantis requirements and maintain up to date CPD record
- Provide coaching and support on technical matters to team members
- Review profitability and costs on job by job basis
- Allocate resources appropriately depending on the client and assignment
- Show flexibility in considering different points of view and options available
- Coach team members
- Provide constructive and ongoing feedback
- Identify own strengths and weaknesses and development needs
- Take appropriate level of responsibility to ensure the client receives the end product on a timely basis
- Exceed client expectations
- Provide empathy and support to client
- Consider interests of others before deciding on approach.
