Accounting & Advisory Manager
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To manage and develop a portfolio, including:
- Planning the assignment efficiently to meet budgets and recoverability of fees required
- Allocating applicable staff resource
- Controlling and reviewing work done
- Feedback to staff and appraising them
- Ensuring complete job passed to partner/associate partner
- Interacting with other departments as required e.g. tax, cosec, payroll
- Keeping client informed of progress
- To provide technical advice and support to audit teams
- To assist Core Practice management to achieve group targets as required e.g. chargeable time targets, recoverability targets
- To manage the performance of audit team members and to coach them in their ongoing development
- To liase and communicate with other departments to provide a full and timely business advisory service
- Interacts fully with clients as a point of contact by email, phone calls, on-site reviews and attending client meetings
Experience / Qualifications
Key skills and knowledge:-
- Able to prioritise workload
- Able to offer good advice to clients
- Maintains excellent client relations
- Ensures technical knowledge is up to date and seeks expert advice when required
- Undertakes CPD in accordance with Institute and Vantis requirements and maintain up to date CPD record
- Provides coaching and support on technical matters to team members
- Reviews profitability and costs on job by job basis
- Allocates resources appropriately depending on the client and assignment
- Shows flexibility in considering different points of view and options available
- Coaches team members
- Provides constructive and ongoing feedback
- Identifies own strengths and weaknesses and development needs
- Takes appropriate level of responsibility to ensure the client receives the end product on a timely basis
- Exceeds client expectations
- Provides empathy and support to client
- Considers interests of others before deciding on approach.
